These breakfast bad boys came about due to an abundance of ripe nectarines, reminiscing about North Carolina beach breakfasts, and my absolute undying devotion to making delicious breakfast foods. Fact: I am much more likely to go all out on breakfast than any other meal of the day. Nectarines are right up there with peachesContinue reading “Caramelized Nectarine Pancakes”

Peanut Butter Lover’s Brownies
With the abundance of snowy, sub-freezing weather, numerous sick days from all members of the household, and general lack of outdoor time, these peanut buttery bars have been baked several times in the past couple weeks. They have been prepared with both boxed brownie mix and from scratch. I can happily report that both waysContinue reading “Peanut Butter Lover’s Brownies”
6 months and a New Year!
Oh Happy New Year to you! I admit, I was in bed last night by 9:30 and it was GLORIOUS! My littlest one, who is now 6 months(!!), was in bed by 6:30 and then up again at 9:30 and after the second time up, I took my cue to get to bed. It wasContinue reading “6 months and a New Year!”
Holla, Challah!
I believe that most human beings have something they love to labor over – something that is time consuming and yet fills us with joy to produce. How else could frescos, croissants, quilts, and War and Peace exist? My labor of love is yeast bread. To be fair, I don’t really think that yeastContinue reading “Holla, Challah!”
Natural Dyed Frosting
I wrote this post a while back and them promptly forgot about publishing it, as my life got twice as busy the day after this party. Greta saw her dream cake in a Meredith Publishing special interest magazine and insisted on having car cakes for her birthday this past June. I am not a master cakeContinue reading “Natural Dyed Frosting”
Blueberry Peanut Butter Granola Bars
These granola bars are so good and simple to make. I first made my own home made granola bars from a recipe in Parents magazine, and when I realized how easy it was and how much I was overpaying at the store (!) I started to figure out my own combinations. This is my favoriteContinue reading “Blueberry Peanut Butter Granola Bars”
My New Favorite Cookies
Since I am starving all the time these days and truly eating to provide for two of us, I tried to hunt down the perfect lactation cookie recipe. I found a few that I liked but since every one was missing one or more of the key elements I wanted to include, I ended upContinue reading “My New Favorite Cookies”
Baby Shower + Gluten Free Dairy Free Waffles
Last weekend I hosted a baby shower for my sister, Caroline, and another childhood friend, Hannah. Sadly, the few photos I took of guests turned out a hot blurry mess (trying to juggle too many tasks, methinks) and I don’t have one of Hannah. So, Hannah, or the moms, if you have one of theContinue reading “Baby Shower + Gluten Free Dairy Free Waffles”
Banana Coconut Muffins
Oh my goodness, are these muffins ever delicious! They have the flavor of banana, a slight crunch of chia seeds, and yet none of the gluten, dairy, refined sugar, or vegetable oils that most muffin recipes have. I guess this recipe might be what the pinners are calling these days a clean eating recipe. Well,Continue reading “Banana Coconut Muffins”
Lemon Chia Seed Blueberry Bread {dairy-free}
I made this delicious quick bread last Sunday during nap time, and it was gobbled up before work on Monday. The chia seeds are a nice swap for butter and the typical poppy seeds. The almond yogurt replaces the need for milk or sour cream, and the blueberries and lemon complement each other perfectly. Continue reading “Lemon Chia Seed Blueberry Bread {dairy-free}”
