Iowa Skies + Batman Piñata

My most recent finished watercolor, started just before our trip to Alexandria, MN – based on an Instagram photo I took a few years ago of baby blankets drying on the clothesline. This summer has been flying by – we have all been making time for creating which leaves  me happier than anything else atContinue reading “Iowa Skies + Batman Piñata”

Lake Week

A couple of weeks ago, we headed North to Alexandria, Minnesota, with my hubby’s family.  We rented a wonderful lake house with a boat, playground, and killer lakefront view porch.  We spent our time boating, fishing, eating, playing games after the kids were in bed, swimming, and site-seeing.  It was a lovely way to spendContinue reading “Lake Week”

My mom gave me a couple bags of Hand-felted WoolContinue reading “Mixed Media Necklace + Holiday Decor”

Roots Watercolor Painting

I finally finished my most current watercolor painting, Roots of Motherhood.” It’s one of the first large artworks I’ve done in quite some time, at a whole 22 x 30″.   I have been working on it since March, slowly plugging away on it whenever I carve out the time. In other words, after children areContinue reading “Roots Watercolor Painting”

Throwback Artwork

Before moving to Iowa last summer, I sorted through my massive collection of artwork done from childhood through the present.  They are not stored nor sorted very well and so, sifting through them led to some interesting discoveries.  I photographed some of my more favorite or intriguing examples.  Many were recycled, some given away, andContinue reading “Throwback Artwork”
